UPDATE, 14th July 2016: Pokemon Go is now available officially in the UK through Play Store. Here is a link. Enjoy!
You are probably reading this because you really want to try out the latest viral game for smartphones and tablets – the very popular at the moment, Pokemon Go. If you don’t live in the United States, Australia or New Zealand, you probably still can’t access the official app. However, there is a way to install it on your Android device if you live in a country such as the United Kingdom, for example.
So, here is what you need to do if you want to install Pokemon Go on your Android device in the UK:
- Download the APK file of the game on your smartphone from here (be careful with other APK files because they may be corrupted or may try to access your personal data!)
- Click on the APK file and try to install it
- When it asks you for permission, grant this through your Settings menu. You have to turn ON the option to be able to install apps from Unknown sources (after you finish, please switch that off!)
- That’s it – your game will start installing and you only need to run it and set up your profile
We hope you will enjoy Pokemon Go and will let us know if you have any questions.
Here is also a video version of these instructions as well as some in-play videos.
