According to a video on YouTube as well as some reports on other tech websites, the new flagship smartphones from Samsung – the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+, could be unlocked by using a photo of their owner.
The face recognition option for unlocking the new Galaxy phones was one of the most anticipated before their announcement a few days ago. Now, it seems that you can unlock them even by using a photo of their original owner who has set up the lock. It is still unclear if that only works if you use a photo showing the person in a similar angle as if he’s standing in front of his phone, but we are expecting some update of that feature in the near future or an official comment from Samsung.
It would be very useless if the face recognition could be trespassed in such an easy manner, so we would have to wait and see what level of security Samsung will really introduce.
